- Information: Parking at Quarry Car Park, Cleeve Common, and pay the parking fee in the golf clubhouse. (Please do not park in the golf club car park.) Toilets available in the clubhouse. Bring coffee / drinks and snacks for a midway break.
Description:
Cleeve Common, the highest point of the Cotswolds National Landscape at 330 m and a site of Special Scientific Interest, is a haven for plants and animals thriving on Jurassic limestone grassland, supporting a wide range of invertebrates, butterflies, rare orchids and migratory birds such as the Ring Ouzel. The Common is full of history and we will traverse the site of an early Cheltenham racecourse and discover the headwater of the River Isbourne that flows to Evesham. This is a walk in a truly enchanting landscape with interests for everyone.
