Description:
From Broadway we follow the Wychavon Way into the rich arable lands of The Vale, with their big skies. The whaleback of our eventual goal of Bredon Hill draws ever closer as we pass through Childswickham to reach Sedgeberrow where we will take a break in the park and then continue to a lunch stop in the lovely village of Ashton under Hill. The squat form of 18th century Parsons Tower at 981 feet completes our trio and on a clear day offers extensive views over the Avon Valley, the Severn Valley and far beyond. After a break to enjoy the views, the neighbouring hill fort, rock formations and some of the poetry they have inspired, we descend to Elmley Castle with its fine church, rustic streets and welcoming community owned pub.
